Modern clinical pharmacy practice goes beyond individual clinical competence. Pharmacists are increasingly expected to provide leadership, collaborate effectively within multidisciplinary teams, contribute to medication safety, participate in clinical governance, and drive improvements in the quality of patient care. However, leadership, systems thinking, and interprofessional practice are not always adequately addressed through traditional pharmacy education and training.

This programme bridges these gaps by empowering clinical pharmacists to move from individual competence to system-wide impact. Participants will gain practical knowledge and skills in clinical leadership, multidisciplinary collaboration, systems thinking, clinical communication, patient safety, clinical governance, and quality improvement.

By strengthening pharmacists’ capacity to influence clinical decision-making and lead improvement initiatives, the programme supports safer medication use, improved patient outcomes, and a stronger role for pharmacists within Nigeria’s healthcare system.
